Three-peat!

Junior Kate Leary scored three goals, including the gamewinner in overtime, as The Governor's Academy won its third straight New England Division II title with a 5-4 victory over Southfield.  Junior Alex Carpenter assisted on the game-winning tally and added another goal in regulation.  Carpenter was named the tournament MVP.

It was the second time in six months that Leary had led her team to a New England title.  Leary scored the game-winning goal to lead Governor's to the 2009 New England Field Hockey Championship in November.  She also scored the game-winning goal in last year's New England hockey final.  A recap of the New England Tournament is available here.
